TEXAS STATE NAMED CAMPUS ORGANIZATION OF THE YEAR!
Hey what’s up this past weekend the Hip Hop Congress received four awards for our activities at Texas State. One of the four was Over All Org of the Year! Big up to the Congress for that. Our Prez also got an award for Man of the Year. Big ups to Ernst Bernard chapter head. We just had our last meeting and elected new officers for next year. We’re already getting ready for next year’s events.

USC:
What up from Hip Hop Congress! What’s the deal everybody?! Can you believe it? The semester is nearly over people. The final days are upon us. Unfortunately, this will be the last email of the semester for ‘SC. And, on top of that, there will be no meeting this week for HHC. But don’t worry, there are a grip of shows coming up in the next two weeks for anyone happening to be in the LA area, of which HHC here at ‘SC will be repping. And we’ve also hit up our members with an article we thought they may enjoy, entitled “Somethings to Ponder: When is Old School Too Old to Play” an article by DaveyD.

We got a nice week here at IU during the Little 500. HHC sponsored events include The Roots, Def Poetry Showcase, and Snacky Chan. Other groups on campus are bringin in Young Buck, Coolie, and Naughty By Nature. The bars are bringing in Rahzel, ?uestlove to DJ, as well as Living Legends and J-Live to perform. The next 5 days are gonna be one fantastic voyage on OPP!!!

Also let me introduce you all to next year’s chapterhead, Alex P.. He is a lil shorter buts sounds a lot like Alex F. But we love him just the same!! He will be taking over the duties of writing updates and answer questions like “Where is Indiana”, “What should I wear in Indiana”, and “Is there really Hip Hop in Indiana” (all from Christina). He’s a great dood and shoot him a welcoming email at djxander4life@yahoo.com. I am sure he will include a better intro of himself next week.

Peace
Aaron

TEXAS STATE:
Hey what’s up this pass Friday a group of the Hip Hop Congress members participated in a panel discussion at the Texas Association of Black Personnel in Higher Education state conference. We talked about the effects of Hip Hop on our college careers. We took questions and we also had members recite spoken word, free style, break dance, etc. It was definitely a bonding experience for all members who participated.

This Sat. Hip Hop Congress will also be participating in Bobcat Day. Bobcat Day is an event that allows future students come and take tours of the campus and brows different organizations.

Hip Hop Congress was nominated for a couple of awards for an activities organization on campus and the community. One is for the Organization of the Year. Big ups for the Congress on that! The awards show will be April 23rd.

The Congress is doing big things.
