Weekly Update o5.o3.o6
NATIONAL CONFERENCE—HOTEL INFO:
Shamako has been on the ground in Boulder, Colorado for the past week. He has been making connections, scouting locations, and getting a taste of what we will be experiencing on June 22nd to the 25th for our 5th annual National Conference. Make sure you are there. Book your flights now.
And for the long-awaited hotel information.
We have reserved 30 rooms with the Boulder Outlook for you all. The hotel is great! Walking distance from the conference events and only 90 bucks a night. You can fit up to 4 people per room so it works out to something like 25 a night with tax.
To reserve your room, go to www.boulderoutlook.com. 1800 542 0304. We have 30 days to fill them up at this rate so please call and book the room today. It’s better to reserve and cancel if for some reason you need less rooms than to need another room and not be able to get it at our rate.
If you are interested in attending, performing, or just want to say hi to Shamako, please email him at Shamako@hiphopcongress.com
WILLAMETTE:
Might as well send this now, lord knows I don’t want to work on my finals project….What up y’all!!! This is Drew up here at Willamette U. closing out an amazing first year for the chapter.
First of all, we held the Conscious Overdose show featuring QN5 2 weeks back (sorry for not updating). The show was a success, and we defiantly made a name for the HHC in Oregon. Needless to say it was a nightmare putting on the first hip hop show ever at a small private school, but we jumped through the hoops and got it done. We were the first student org at WU to ever have to take out there own $1,000,000 liability policy, that hurt the budget!
The good news is that if anyone ever needs tips on how to fund raise money on their campus hit me up (casper999@gmail.com). I have a few tricks I can share. We raised $6000 in little under a month from just around campus. I know you big schools can easily beat that.
On another note, tonight was our last meeting of the year, tomorrow is the last day of classes. Damn where did it all go???
We held officer elections and amended the constitution. No major surprises in the election make up of next years chapter officers. Tristan, Austin, Quyen and myself all were voted in to stay in our positions, and the newby to the exec is Ryuske Omiya our man who does all the publicity for our chapter. If you want more info on the chairs contact information hit me up.
What else can I say, I have to continue the fundraising to take us all to Boulder, the show didn’t make that much money.
Until then y’all stay cool and I’ll see ya in Boulder!
Peace,
A

LORAS COLLEGE IN IOWA:
We had a great time as special guests at the Iowa State Hip Hop club show. We really appreciated their generosity and it gave us a place to show what Loras can bring to the table. I wanted to thank all of the dancers and B-boys for their hard work and for surprising the Iowa State club with our skills. We already have a show being planned for next year, to continue our competition with Iowa State and to really show them that small Loras College can bring it.
We are finishing up the year with our end of the year BBQ on Saturday.
Try not to stress too hard with finals and have a great summer!

VASHON CHAPTER:
Last week we held a two hour cipher in the parking lot, enjoying the sunshine and eating emcees. Some of the baseball team tried to get on, but couldn’t handle our lyrics. We are preparing our songs for an EP to be recorded in the next two weeks. Then we’ll have a year-end BBQ at G’s house.
I’m done.
