Austin Park Clean Up [Better Hip Hop Bureau of Austin]
The park cleanup will take place Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008 from 9am to noon. Based on member suggestions and voted on during the conference call, the park to be cleaned is Oak Springs Park located at the intersection of Airport Blvd and Oak Springs Rd in East Austin. Community organization PODER helped save the natural springs area from being developed into another future Dollar Store in 2006.
Keep Austin Beautiful will provide all the supplies we need to clean the park. Below are links to some IMPORTANT things to read before cleanup day. More information and forms can be found at keepaustinbeautiful.org.

At noon, the Hip Hop Bureau will fire up the grills. A bag of trash from the park is your ticket for some free food. Elijah and A.G. has committed to bringing in at least 10 lbs of chicken and 10 lbs of ground beef and/or turkey for burgers. If you cannot contribute to the potluck, you could help by asking for food donations from grocery stores and other businesses. The following items will be needed; please email us with what you’d like to bring so we can make sure the menu will be complete:

plates
forks
knives
napkins
buns
side dishes – potato salad/beans/corn on the cob/rice
cups
ice
juice
soda
water
desserts
condiments – ketchup/mustard/mayo/relish
cheese
pickles
lettuce
Voices are louder when there are more of them – the Bureau needs more members and officer positions filled in order to get things really rolling. Please mark your calendars and let everyone you know about the cleanup and BBQ.
The Bureau is also still in need of more logo ideas for flyers we’d like to have available at the cleanup. If no other suggestions are made, we’ll be settling on the current logo.
