M1 Speaking tour kicked off last WEDNESDAY in SACRAMENTO… Open Mic started off the evening with performances by our talented congress artists as well as local spoken word poets. Performances were followed by M1’s speech about his amazing journey to Gaza on a mission with leaders like Cynthia McKinney of the Democratic Party to aide Palestinian Prisoners under “Israeli imposed, US backed embargo”. Many of us learned a lot and gained a new perspective on the world we live in.
The whole event in general was so awesome. The open mic portion came first and we had some dope emcees bless the stage. We also had some very talented spoken word artists who performed pieces on relevant issues of the night as well as uncensored poems that got the crowd excited, haha! Everyone had a good time. I had an AMAZING time… There was nothing but love the whole night. There was so much great energy and positivity all around the WHOLE night.
The event was a huge success and we raised a good amount of money for Block Report Radio. Special thanks to DJ Rip1 for holding down the music…This was truly an amazing event and I want to especially thank M1, DLabrie & JR…
