CAL STATE FULLERTON:
What up Congress? We’ve had a whole month and a half Winter Break to prepare for this upcoming Spring semester and with it finally nearing, we’re ready to let Cal State Fullerton HHC’s presence be known!

We’ve managed to turn some heads by posting flyers across campus and advertising online and have received some inquiries from interested individuals. We also have been given the opportunity to run a recruitment / information booth at Discover Fest: a two-day event to introduce the clubs and organizations of CSUF and was invited by the Pilipino American Student Association to speak at their first meeting, which they estimate will have at least 300 students in attendance. Big ups to UC Irvine for holding a So Cal HHC meet-up! We enjoyed choppin it up with our fellow So Cal Chapters (UCI, USC, CSULA, and UCR) and will gladly extend our hand and our home for future meetings. Peace.

OHIO UNIVERSITY:
Tonight Russell Simmons is hosting a forum here and some of the members of the congress will be taking part in the forum. We are having a Latino’s in Hiphop event on Feb. 11th and we will be bringing down a group called Outerspace from Philly. We are starting to plan our Hiphop awareness week in May. Besides that we are mostly working on fundraisers.

peace,
Tommy

UC IRVINE:
UCI was proud to host the first ever Southern California HHC meet-up. We were joined by USC, CSULA, and our newest chapters, CSUF and UCR. UCI hopes to work more closely with our neighboring chapters in the future.

We are in the process of bringing the hip hop film festival (www.hiphopfilmfesitval.com) to our campus. With the film fest, we hope to reach out to our campus and surrounding community by exposing them to elements of the hip hop culture that are not readily available to the popular culture.

Starting next Friday, our ever-so-popular and most amazing Freestyle Fridays will kick off in front of Tommy Trojan. The freestyle sessions that have gone on for over a year now have become legendary on campus. So know this. Lots of good things to come this semester.
