Baltimore Community Chapter Update [Baltimore]

April 10th, 2008 · No Comments · Chapters

The Baltimore Community Chapter has been hard at work for the last few months. The Board of Directors have put together a project called The R.E.U.P.(Re-Educating the Urban Population) in order to use their talents to tackle issues in their communities. They hold a monthly Community Rap Session, as well as visit area high schools and public venues and put on workshops about issues such as urban violence, voicelessness of young people, HIVS/AIDS and even childhood obesity. With a little research and their lyrical skills, they have developed interactive workshops designed to enlighten urban community members.

The chapter has also created many alliances with organizations in Baltimore that would provide resources such as media outlets and music production, including the historic Senator theater in Baltimore, UCAM(United Community Access Media) and the Safe and Sound Campaign of Baltimore. Look out soon for the B-More chapter’s website with links to all of these organizations. If you would like to get in touch with them, contact Trinya at trinyahhcbaltimore@gmail.com.

In addition to this, the debut album of the chapter’s own, Reality Check, will be released to the public, April 18th.
