URBANA-CHAMPAIGN:
UC HipHop headed to Indiana next week! Other than that, we are trying our weekly night at the Canopy Club on Thursdays now because everyone punks out on Mondays. Sunday Session @ Allen Hall this past week was probably the best so far, we had MCs workshopping in one room, b-boys in another and DJs in another…finally! Got some UC HipHop T-shirts in the makings to fundraise and made a huge revamp on uchiphop.org.

Peep it! See those who head out to IU then..peace, Victor

USC:
It’s about damn time! Believe dat. Finally, the wait is over. And HHC and the USC administration have finally fixed all of the problems. Weekly meetings “will,” and we mean that this time, meet starting next week. The start of our Famous Freestyle Fridays in front of Tommy Trojan are still on hold. We’re trying to take things one step at a time here. We’re just glad weekly meetings are in place. Freestyle Fridays will hopefully begin next week. Right now we’re there are some ideas floating around that the LA Scratch DJ Academy will perform in front of Tommy. There is also the possibility of HHC taking a trip one day to the Scratch Academy for a free lesson. We’re trying to bring it together.

GRINNELL:
Whas up Congress?! Well our dates our set: March 5th Brother Ali and Treologic are coming up to Grinnell. If any of the Iowa Chapters would like to go to this concert get up at HIPHOP@grinnell.edu and we will see what we can do from there. Look forward to hitting up the Hip Hop Summit Feb. 25th in Pella. Grinnell gives mad props to the Central College Chapter!

OHIO UNIVERSITY:
We had two events last week that went real well. The first was a sexism in hiphop seminar with guest speaker Zen, who is the co-founder of the woman alliance in hiphop. It was poorly attended, but still a live event. Then on Friday we had an excellent turn out for Outerspace and the Caution Crew. Right now we are focusing on fund raising so we can put on a workshop for a local elementary school.

peace,
Tommy

SAN JOSE STATE:
What’s crackin HHC? We jus chillin out here in San Jose tryin to maintain our connections with local artists. We helped set up for a local cat named Jonah who is comin up wit an album called “Family Affair.”

Some of our chapter went out to The Great Mall in Milpitas to help support him. Also last week we had our info night. The turn out was pretty good we had about 10 new faces. We kicked sum knowledge to them about HHC and our mission. We also gave them reasons why they should join HHC. It was koo we all grubbed afterwards on sum Coscto pizzas. Aite folks til next week. Payce.

VASHON:
We did our 16 Bars of Fire on Love, and next week the topic is Black History. The Roosevelt High School is trying to start a chapter and they came. We battled for 45 minutes. We won. And our basketball team is #1 in the country. Out.

Have a great week.

Peace and love,
Ron Gubitz
