HHC Artists are not only defined by their ability to entertain, but more importantly through their ability to understand the important role that personal creative expression plays within the community. HHC seeks to elevate the status of the "Artist" to that of "Cultural Worker" through HHC sponsored events that represent a professional standard within the fields of arts, education and activism.

HHC ARTIST PROGRAM

The HHC Artist Program is a special membership-based affiliation open to all creative artists practicing, teaching or working in the areas of music, dance, movement, visual, graphic, written or spoken arts, and is equally open to any creative individuals committed to using their unique talent(s) to share their knowledge and expertise in service to others.

MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS

HHC Artists are supported by Hip Hop Congress, Inc. through membership benefits that include booking workshops, trainings, performances and speaking engagements to audiences of all ages and backgrounds.

HHC Artists are encouraged to collaborate with each other and share resources to help expand the perception of the "Artist" to that of "cultural worker."

Networking opportunities

As part of the HHC Artist Program members gain access to the HHC Artist Network to connect with other members, as well as opportunities to attend special events and workshops to connect with other artist and form lasting collaborations.

Cultural educators, teaching artists and "cultural workers" of all types within the HHC Artist Network have an opportunity to receive special invites to participate in HHC-sponsored events to share their skills and expertise in addition to member benefits.

Create a sustainable economy of jobs that operate in the interest of the community by developing “Artists” as an organized labor force in schools and learning facilities throughout the nation and across the globe.

Leverage local & regional talent in the interest of the community by identifying “Artists” in the U.S. who are interested in providing and seeking network support through cooperative economics.

Focus the social and political impact of “Artists” by creating opportunities to engage new audiences through HHC Chapter programs and HHC Affiliates.

Endorse “Artists” as “Cultural Workers” at relevant venues, learning sites and community spaces, who represent HHC standards within the entertainment industry, educational environments and activist circles.
